In “COVID-10, cash and the future of payments” Jon Frost (B.A., International Studies, B.S. Economics, 2007) and co-authors Raphael Auer and Giulio Cornelli analyze the safety of using cash in the time of COVID-19, and how moving away from it may negatively impact unbanked and older consumers. The article is a BIS Bulletin, an external-facing publication of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), an international organization owned by central banks around the world.
Frost is currently Senior Economist, Innovation and the Digital Economy unit at the BIS in Basel, Switzerland. He earned his master’s degree in Economics at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and a doctorate in Economics at the University of Groningen.
