In her article “30 years later, the human chain that ‘unshackled’ the Baltic nations still matters” Jackson School alum Indra Ekmanis (Ph.D. International Studies 2017) reflects on the 30 year anniversary of “almost 2 million people in what was then the longest human chain in history, a mass demonstration that brought the Baltic countries closer to freedom after 50 years of communist rule.”
