Yemen, politics of the Middle East.

Dr. Robert D. Burrowes is a Professor Emeritus of the Political Science Department and the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. He retired in 2004. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Princeton University. Dr. Burrowes has also taught political science at the City University of New York, New York University, and the American University of Beirut. His professional experience also includes work with organizations concerned with training and development work in Yemen. He is the author The Yemen Republic: The Politics of Development, 1962-1986 and two forthcoming volumes, The Republic of Yemen: Oil and Unification and The Republic of Yemen: An Historical Dictionary. In addition, Dr. Burrowes has written and published extensively on Middle Eastern topics in leading professional journals.
