The Ellison Center seeks proposals by Community College full time, part time, and adjunct faculty for new course development, revision of an existing course, or creation of a new course module, all to be taught at their current institution. Faculty from all disciplines are welcome to apply.

The Ellison Center seeks proposals by Community College full time, part time, and adjunct faculty for new course development, revision of an existing course, or creation of a new course module, all to be taught at their current institution. Faculty from all disciplines are welcome to apply.

The application period is now closed and will reopen in Fall 2018.

Award Categories:

  • Development of new module to an existing course: $1,000
  • Complete revision of an existing course: up to $2,000
  • Development of a new course: up to $3,000

Successful applicants will be granted access to UW Library and other resources and may partner with UW faculty when practicable.

Successful applicants will receive the award upon delivery of a revised or new syllabus or module plan. Winning syllabi will be posted online and student evaluations will be required after the course is taught.

    5. List of products proposed (for example: syllabus, handouts, student activity materials, pre- and post-tests, maps, charts, study guides, articles, review questions)
    6. Explanation of how the proposed project internationalizes the curriculum on your campus

This grant views Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia in broad terms. Applicable countries include the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia), the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia), as well as Romania, Bulgaria,  Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova. In Central Asia, applicable countries include the Caucausus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan)
