Kate is a current MA student in the Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies program. Prior to attending the UW, she taught English in France and Russia, advised international students at the University of Colorado, was a French instructor to U.S. Army Special Forces, and, most recently, worked at Amazon. She received her BA from Colorado State University in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a concentration in French and completed graduate studies in Comparative Literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her current academic interests include Russian foreign policy, NATO, the European Union, and cyber security. She recently spent a summer in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan where she devoured manti as often as possible.
