OPINION | In Trump’s America, Russian Studies Are More Important Than Ever

“The University of Washington, a leader in international studies, could use some state support,” writes journalist Peter Jackson in his analysis on why Russian studies in higher education is more important than ever now.

He holds in example the valuable contribution of the Jackson School Ellison Center for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies, founded by the late Professor Herb Ellison and also one of the School’s eight federally-funded Title VI national resource centers, to U.S. foreign policy in the former Soviet Union.
