Learn Burmese at UW! The Jackson School offers Burmese language courses. In the time schedule they are listed under JSIS 486 Special Topics in Southeast Asian Studies.

Burmese is the official language of Myanmar (Also known as Burma), a country in Southeast Asia that borders Bangladesh, India, China, Laos, and Thailand. Burmese is the first language of the Bamar ethnic group, the largest ethnic group in Myanmar. It is a member of the Sino-Tibetan language family, and is a tonal language.
