Ty Martin

About
Hello! My name is Ty, and I am a third-year undergraduate student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am pursuing a degree in Medical Sciences with a minor in Environmental Science. I am thrilled to begin my upcoming exchange to the University of Washington for the Winter quarter!
My aspiration is to work in health care, where I can merge my passions for research, social justice, and environmental justice while delving into the complexities of environmental and population health. As a proud African Nova Scotian, I am committed to giving back to my community by becoming a well-rounded physician dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of African Nova Scotians and their communities.
I am honored to have been selected as a Killam Fellow. This opportunity allows me to explore my interests in a new environment and capacity at UW, where I am eager to make new friends and connections, get involved on campus, and explore the vibrant city of Seattle during the Winter!
In my free time, I love to travel, spend time outdoors, hang out with my friends, and go hiking with my dog, Bugsy!
