Siôn Romaine
About
Siôn was appointed as director of the Acquisitions & Rapid Cataloging Services (ARCS) Department in August 2018. ARCS handles the purchasing and initial processing of library materials, in all formats, in English, Western European and North American indigenous languages. As Director, Siôn is responsible for overall management and implantation of workflows related to the acquisition of information resources that support the University’s teaching and research needs.
Siôn was awarded the 2019 Harrassowitz Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award, which is awarded to a librarian in recognition of outstanding leadership and other contributions in the field of acquisitions.
Siôn played a key role as coordinator of the successful Orbis-Cascade Alliance ILS system migration at UW. He has served in leadership roles in several important organizations including ALCTS, NISO and the PAPR Advisory Council, as well as coordinating enhancements for ELUNA Alma Product Working groups, and has presented at conferences including ER&L, ALA Midwinter and the Charleston Conference.
