About

My name is Shana Edouard and I am a UW major in earth and space sciences. Geographically, Canada is the perfect place to learn more about glaciology. I am really excited to see the similarities and differences between the two earth sciences departments at UW and Western.

I am about to start my third year of college, starting at Western University in London, Ontario, during fall semester. I was born in Southern California but, because my father is in the US military, I have moved all around the world. I have learned to appreciate the differences in culture from place to place. Living in different places has taught me that, despite cultural differences, people are very much alike.

I’ve been to Canada a few times for vacation and I absolutely loved the places I’ve been to. UW’s Department of Earth and Space Sciences has a few professors from Canada who are really enthusiastic about their ongoing research, including in the field of glaciology, which is my current interest. Geographically, Canada is the perfect place to learn more about glaciology. I am really excited to see the similarities and differences between the two earth sciences departments at UW and Western, especially their styling of teaching and subjects. I am looking forward to applying the knowledge I will learn to future studies!
