Rachel Freeman

I am currently a Masters candidate in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington, with an interest freshwater issues pertaining to both access and quality. While my interest in global water crises emerged through years of research and work in Latin America, the implications of water stress transcend physical and regional boundaries worldwide. I have become particularly interested in the future of water resources closer to home, especially in terms of a comparative look at the availability and quality of water in the U.S. and Canada. I plan to use the FLAS to immerse myself in the French language and study Canadian policy that shapes the regulation and management of freshwater resources in the North.
