My name is Boo Dodson and I am a second-year student at the UW School of Law. I am also pursuing a joint master’s at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. Over the past few years, I have been lucky to study Canada and the French language more closely through FLAS. This year, I explored many legal issues surrounding Canada’s involvement in international trade, Canadian constitutional law and, most notably, the expansion of Indigenous title rights after the landmark 2014 Tsilhqot’in decision. In the future, I hope to work as an international arbitrator or for the U.S. Government as an attorney or policy analyst. Regardless of my path, my experience in FLAS and research on Canada will greatly assist my future work.
