About

Kloshe konaway, Owen nika nem. Hello everybody, my name is Owen Oliver. I come from the people of the Columbia River and Southwest Pueblo, but I am enrolled Quinault. I’m currently a sophomore studying American Indian studies and fishery sciences at the University of Washington.

I am very honored to be a Corbett Exchange recipient; I truly believe my connection to the indigenous people here in these Coast Salish lands will be a seamless transition into the University of British Columbia. I hope to use this opportunity to enhance my relationship with the original caretakers of the Northwest Coast, and to understand how we can create Indigenous places within our cities and appropriately include Indigenous people in future planning processes.

The Corbett British Columbia-Washington International Exchange Program Fund provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Washington to spend two semesters at the University of British Columbia or University of Victoria; and for students from the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria to spend three quarters at the University of Washington.
