About

My name is Mikaela Seelke and I am entering my second year at the University of Washington studying Environmental Sciences and French. I spent the majority of my life in Washington state, but have lived in central Texas for the past several years. I decided to move back to Washington to start university and to be involved more in the environmental programs the Pacific Northwest offers. I am excited to be attending the University of Victoria for the beginning of my second year to study Environmental Sciences and also French!

I am really looking forward to learning more about the environment from another country’s perspective through my courses and opportunities around campus with my peers and other departments. I hope these connections will aid me in interacting with environmental issues and solutions on an international scale. I am also looking forward to being in a community of students that share a passion for learning new languages, specifically French, and a language’s influence on history, culture and a wider society. I am really very excited to experience another academic setting, but also connecting with a community of students with similar passions and different perspectives!

The Corbett British Columbia-Washington International Exchange Program Fund provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Washington to spend two semesters at the University of British Columbia or University of Victoria; and for students from the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria to spend three quarters at the University of Washington.
