Marwa came to Arctic Studies from Middle East Studies. Her PhD research is on comparative Middle East politics, with a focus on civil-military relations in Egypt, Turkey, and Israel. As a columnist on international affairs for Almasry Alyoum, Egypt’s leading independent daily newspaper, she was drawn to shed light on the Arctic as an Emerging Region of potential cooperation and/or conflict. Research interests: How the region is implicated in climate change policies, impacted by global security affairs, and influencing international trade relations.
