Kelsey Rudes

International Studies and Marine and Environmental Affairs, University of Washington, 2021-2022 Corbett Recipient

About

My name is Kelsey Rudes, and I am a third-year graduate student concurrently pursuing degrees in international studies and marine and environmental affairs at the University of Washington. I am originally from Virginia but have spent the last few years in Seattle.

I have a particular interest in international collaboration, especially when it comes to our oceans and environment. Many of the problems we face cannot be solved by one country alone, and I am honored to be a part of a program that builds upon necessary inter-country relationships. The United States and Canada have an effective environmental partnership and we share many of the same ecosystems, waterways, and wildlife. I hope to learn more about human-environment interactions within the Canadian context, as well as how our two countries can continue to be successful collaborators.

The Corbett British Columbia-Washington International Exchange Program Fund provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Washington to spend two semesters at the University of British Columbia or University of Victoria; and for students from the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria to spend three quarters at the University of Washington.
