About
My name is Jannat, and I am a second-year majoring in Psychology and Social Welfare, and minoring in Global Engagement. I was born and raised in Iraq, and it lit up a passion in me to later return and help tackle some of the country’s most pressing issues. I started my degree with the goal that I would use my education to address the issue of intergenerational trauma that I have observed in my home country. As I am further advancing in my education, and gaining more experience, I am continuing to refine and update the problems that I choose to work on in Iraq, including intergenerational trauma. I am hopeful that being an exchange student will allow me to explore more and open my eyes to how other countries tackle similar issues within their populations. The Fulbright Killam Fellowship will provide me with the insight that I need to add a more global view to my educational journey.
