About

I am an incoming MPH student in the Department of Epidemiology. I am originally from outside Chicago and hold a Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. My focus as a FLAS fellow is to learn more about how disease spreads in arctic Indigenous Canadian communities and expand my knowledge of French.

I join the Canadian Center after working for three years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I first became interested in the topic of tribal health. I am particularly interested in understanding how historic disparities within Arctic indigenous communities combine with the threat of global climate change to emerging infectious diseases. I hope to gain more tools in working Arctic health as well as expand my foreign language abilities ahead of pursuing a further career in civil public health service.
