About
Caitie is a current Master of Science Electrical Engineering student at the University of Washington, pursuing the Data Science Option from the UW eScience Institute. In her undergraduate studies, Caitie worked as a lead research assistant in the UW Industrial Training and Assessment Center, where they were instrumental in the exploration of techniques and recommendations to save energy or find alternative solutions for reducing emissions. Caitie has also worked as a research engineer for an R&D startup, SpecTree Inc., where she tested and validated the device performance of aerosol collectors. Through these experiences, Caitie has developed a strong interest in energy and sustainability and is driven toward using the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship to study energy access and utilization in remote Canadian regions. Through French language study, they intend to engage and gain greater insight into Canadian datasets and relevant literature while also strengthening cross-border academic and professional collaboration in their research.
