About
BB Denton is an undergraduate pursuing a degree in International Studies with a focus on the environment, as well as a minor in Arctic Studies. They were born and raised in Seattle, with their childhood home being only a mile away from campus, and they also enjoy crocheting, cooking and as of late, skateboarding during their free time.
BB’s experience in Arctic 200 (Indigenous Diplomacies and International Relations in the Arctic) with Jason Young inspired them to pursue a minor in the subject, due to the opportunities it provided to explore the intersections of human and environmental rights. Through her studies of the region she’s learned a lot about a wide range of topics, from policy and cultural sovereignty, to cultural sovereignty. Their hope is that the Arctic Studies minor will provide them a more thorough, interdisciplinary lens with which to approach the climate crisis not only in the Arctic but throughout the whole world as well.
