Ayden Tran

“I’m Ayden Tran, a senior undergraduate student excited to study at the University of British Columbia with a focus on Geography, a subject that comes with world-class offerings at UBC!  As a student of geography, who is particularly interested in human geography, urban planning and transportation, I intend to explore the urban development of British Columbia to learn how the fabric of cities like Vancouver has been woven differently than that of Seattle, and how that has shaped the social and cultural aspects of these spaces. I find the topic of planning is particularly fitting for the Corbett Exchange Program, considering that Washington and British Columbia underwent simultaneous waves of  “modern,” post-WWII planning. Beyond academic exploration, I hope to make new friends from all across the world, explore Canada’s urban and natural landscapes, and discover further passions!”
