About

Alongside Norwegian language courses, my teaching and research focuses on North American literature, with an emphasis on ecocriticism, poetry and poetics, North American literature (especially literature of the west), and Arctic studies. My work and much of my teaching is engaged in questions about the relationship between literary imagination and “wildness.” More recently, these questions have drawn me northward to the American, Canadian, and Scandinavian Arctic.
