UW students can now study at many of the institutions that are members of University of the Arctic via a partnership developed by UW Study Abroad and Canadian Studies.

North2north is the mobility program of the University of the Arctic (UArctic), a network of universities, colleges, research institutes and other organizations focusing on education and research in and about the North. Through north2north, UW students can choose to go on an exchange at one of over 60 participating universities in northern countries such as Canada, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

In fall quarter 2023, Haukur Brynjarsson, an Arctic Studies student from Iceland, spent the quarter at UW. “Studying at UW was an experience of a lifetime, academically and socially. The school will always have a big place in my heart. Go Dawgs!”

Students who wish to participate should have an interest in Arctic studies and demonstrate a motivation to contribute to the North. Priority is given to Arctic Studies minors. If you are interested, please contact Julianna Johnson at jjohns33@uw.edu for further details.
