This spring, teaching professor Hedwige Meyer has been conducting a Québécois literature book club at the Alliance Française. The group of four women have been studying Kukum by Michel Jean, who is an Innu author from Québec. They are deepening their knowledge of First Nations francophone writing while thoroughly enjoying the beautiful story of Almanda Siméon and learning about the forced sedentarization of indigenous people in Quebec in the 20th century.
