Undergraduate wins a Yenching Scholarship

Zachary Reshovsky, a senior majoring in International Studies with an East Asia Concentration, has been selected as a Yenching Scholar, and will join other outstanding graduates from around the world who will spend the 2016-2017 academic year enrolled in an English language Master of China Studies program at Peking University.

He intends to work in U.S. State Department diplomacy or congressional staffing with the U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee following his graduation.

Zachary will be part of the 2nd cohort of this new program, and this was UW’s first year as a nominating partner university.

The Yenching Academy offers an intensive program of interdisciplinary classroom and field study of Chinese history and culture, as well as real-time issues in China’s development. As a college integrated within Peking University, the Yenching Academy prepares a diverse group of exceptional international and Chinese students with the knowledge of China that they need to fulfill their potential as global citizens and leaders.
