On July 1, the Egyptian Army issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. Protesters gathered on Tahrir Square and around the country on Sunday calling for either reform or the resignation from President Morsi. Borzou Daragahi, Middle East correspondent for the Financial Times, and Ellis Goldberg, Director of the JSIS Middle East Center, explain the political and social situation in Egypt.
