Jackson School Director, global affairs grad school leaders express concern on Exec Order visa ban

“We are alarmed by the recent US Executive Order banning visa issuance from seven Muslim-majority nations that was issued after harsh statements directed specifically and categorically against Muslims,” says Jackson School Director Reşat Kasaba and a growing number of other Association for Professional Schools of International Affairs deans and directors, for which Kasaba is also Vice President.

This week over 30 members and affiliate members of APSIA — a worldwide organization of graduate affairs schools from Stockholm, Singapore to Yale, Georgetown and University of Washington — signed a public Commitment to Diversity statement that expresses the value of peace, prosperity, and security come from the exchange of ideas, goods, services, and interactions with those different from ourselves.
