Longtime advocate of the Jackson School of International Studies and the Korea Studies Program at the University of Washington Senator Paull Shin passed away on April 12. Sen. Shin’s legacy is featured in “Sen. Paull Shin went from Seoul Streets to Senate Leadership” and in this memorial statement published by the UW Center for Korea Studies on April 21.
In June 2014, the Korea Studies program and the Jackson School honored state Sen. Shin in a celebration event that included the renaming of the UW Korea Studies program in his name in recognition of his contributions.
