Finding and Connecting to Local Stakeholders: Former CFR Hitachi Fellow and Director of Business Recruitment, Skagit County, Shares Strategies with SSI Junior Fellows

The Space Security Initiative (SSI) Junior Fellows had a working luncheon with Mr. Sean Connell, Director of Business Recruitment at the Economic Development Association of Skagit County, Washington State.

As a former Council on Foreign Relations  (CFR) Hitachi Fellow, Mr. Connell has had extensive on-the-ground experiences in the Asia policy world. He has worked for more than fifteen years in development and trade, promoting economic cooperation and business interactions between the US and East Asia.

With full appreciation of the activities of the SSI team, Mr. Connell shared his perspectives and tips on bridging especially with the rising prominence of Washington State as a space player.  Mr. Connell strongly encouraged the Junior Fellows to reach out to the Pacific Northwest community and to share their regional expertise in the Jackson School with the policy makers and business leaders in Seattle.
