“Technology alone is not the answer for building peaceful prospects in outer space; you’re going to need diplomacy and knowledge of other space powers in equal measure,” says Jackson School Professor Saadia Pekkanen, an outer space expert, in her feature profile for the Whole U‘s Faculty Friday series.
Pekkanen is also co-founder of the University of Washington Space and Policy Research Center, an initiative launched in December 2019 to convene resources and knowledge to meet the emerging challenges and opportunities of expanding human interest and exploration in space.
