The Space Security Initiative (SSI) Junior Fellows had a mid-term evaluation workshop to update the team on their individual progress, and to discuss strategies for both written and oral dissemination of their policy briefs.
SSI Director, Dr. Saadia Pekkanen, who is a specialist in Japan’s space policy as well as a contributor to Forbes, led the discussion on publication and presentation strategies for the space-related briefs that the Junior Fellows are working on.
In the workshop, the Junior Fellows reported on the progress of their individual policy briefs, explaining clearly how they were using the SSI bridge-the-gap training to date to improve their latest versions. Each fellow then got extensive feedback from the SSI team on his or her policy briefs, with a focus on making it clearer and more appealing to broad audiences.
The Junior Fellows will be publishing their regional policy briefs under the SSI series entitled Space Policy of Major Powers. They will also be briefing a broad audience of space-related stakeholders from the government, business, foundation, and academic circles in Washington State in the coming months.
