Professor David Bachman, an expert on international political economy, Asian politics, international relations and U.S. – China Relations, was interviewed by KING 5 News following President Trump’s decision to back out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The TPP was signed by 12 countries that border the Pacific Ocean that represent roughly 40 percent of the world’s economic output. The TPP aims to deepen economic ties among these nations — slashing tariffs and fostering trade to boost growth.
Bachman was quoted saying that the move is likely to hurt business owners involved in international trade in the Pacific.
