Angelina Godoy, Director of the University of Washington’s Center for Human Rights and a professor at the Jackson School and Law, Societies & Justice Department, is mentioned in a Nov. 18 Seattle Times editorial board piece titled “End the ICE secrecy in Longview.”
According to The Seattle Times, in July 2018 Godoy requested Cowlitz County to disclose jail records for all minors housed at the facility since 2015. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement blocked the county from releasing hundreds of documents and a legal battle has ensued. Godoy has labeled the facility “black site.”
