Mallory is CEO of China Ocean Institute, which conducts research to better understand China’s evolving relationship with the world’s oceans. She holds a Ph.D. with Distinction in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, earned her bachelor’s degree in international studies and Mandarin Chinese at the University of Washington.
