2016: Myanmar’s Leap of Faith

Alumnus Dan Arnaudo (MAIS, 2014) writes a first-person piece about the digital revolution in Myanmar, where he participated in the country’s first “Information Symposium” that was held in Yangon in January 2016.

The symposium was organized by the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies and iSchool TASCHA, USAID, Microsoft, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and local NGOs, as part of a mobile literacy effort to help Myanmar transition to democracy.
