Travel to and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Taxis and Rideshare (Uber/Lyft):
The most convenient option is via taxi or rideshare (Uber or Lyft). Rates for rideshare vary depending upon traffic and demand: $75-100 for Uber/Lyft ride between SeaTac airport and University District hotels. Taxis usually offer a flat rate of around $75 (without tip). Average time: 45 minutes. Ubers, Lyfts, and taxis can be found on the 3rd floor of the SeaTac parking garage. Metered taxis can also be taken from this area. If you opt to utilize Uber/Lyft, you may want to reserve a ride. You can reserve a ride ahead of time with Uber here.
Light Rail to U-District Station:
Train does not stop near Silver Cloud University hotel. Uber/Lyft is best option for this location. HOWEVER, train is less expensive than rideshare and nearly as rapid during heavy traffic hours. A long walk from station across campus to hotel takes 30 minutes. Plan accordingly. FROM AIRPORT: Take the 1-Line to the University District. TIME: approx. 45 minutes, BOARD: follow signage from arrival terminal to station. To access the airport station, depart the airport on the 4th floor, taking a skybridge to the garage. In the garage, head north to the station (ample signage will help guide ). FARE: $3.25 one-way and can be paid via credit card at a ticket terminal or via the Transit GO Ticket app that can be downloaded on iOS and Android. Disembark at the U-District station.
Getting Around Seattle:
The above options are great ways to move around Seattle. Another excellent option is to utilize our bus system. Detailed bus schedules and maps are available on King County’s metro website here. For light rail planning, Google Maps is the best tool. Sound Transit does have their own “trip planner” available if you’d prefer to utilize non-Google tools.
Exercise caution around Seattle during the evening hours. Travel in groups when possible.
