U.S.-China Relations through the Scope of History

Emperor Mausoleum Xi'an Terracotta Army China Qin

Description

The East Asia Resource Center partnered with the World Affairs Council Global Classroom for a very special evening at the Pacific Science Center. Participants explored the one-of-a-kind Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor exhibit and then joined EARC and WAC for a conversation with John Pomfret, former Washington Post bureau chief in Beijing, and the author of The Beautiful Country and the Middle Kingdom. Mr. Pomfret discussed U.S.-China relations in a new administration, thinking about the ways that history informs current politics.

The first 30 registrants will receive a free copy of John Pomfret’s book, The Beautiful Country and the Middle Kingdom: America and China, 1776 to the Present.
