Description

This Anchorage School District Summer Academy course explored the essential elements of Chinese culture and the historical forces that have shaped China’s return to international economic, strategic and cultural prominence with an emphasis on pedagogical approaches for the classroom.

Course objectives

To make the participants more familiar with China’s culture and recent history in order to gain a greater understanding of the contemporary issues facing China. Beyond content, participants discussed and practiced pedagogical strategies for working this knowledge into their courses.
