Behind the Headlines online series: Taiwan

With the 24-hour uninterrupted news cycle, it can be challenging to stay on top of what is happening in East Asia and around the world.  Behind the Headlines online series offers teachers a recap and a nuanced understanding of current events happening in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Xinjiang.  Each regional expert will provide a summary and context behind the latest developments in these countries over the last several months.  Teachers will have an opportunity to ask timely and pertinent questions, leading to an informative discussion on East Asia today.  Speakers are from the faculty of the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington and other leading institutions.  Educators can select one or more sessions to attend.

Regional expert in this session

James Lin Assistant Professor of International Studies and Taiwan Studies at the Jackson School of International Studies
