Behind the Headlines online series: China

With the 24-hour uninterrupted news cycle, it can be challenging to stay on top of what is happening in East Asia and around the world.  Behind the Headlines online series offered teachers a recap and a nuanced understanding of current events happening in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Xinjiang.  Each regional expert provided a summary and context behind the latest developments in these countries over the last several months.  Teachers had an opportunity to ask timely and pertinent questions, leading to an informative discussion on East Asia today.  Speakers were from the faculty of the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington and other leading institutions.  Educators could select one or more sessions to attend.
