Vanna Song

About

Vanna entered the Southeast Asia MA Program with the intention of continuing to pursue his objective of paying forward all the opportunities he was granted when he arrived to the United States thirty years ago as a disabled refugee, to Cambodians in Cambodia, especially the poorest of the population and those with disabilities. Opportunities like access to quality education and gainful employment.

Vanna’s research interests include learning how to make science education in Cambodia more accessible to students with disabilities. He would like to examine and analyze the current state of science education in Cambodia, particularly the quality of science instruction and how accessible those curriculums are to disabled students. With that information, he would like to develop programs or craft and implement policies that will enable students with disabilities to have equitable and equal access to science education.
