In March 2018, the WSCSS held its Annual Spring Conference at the Skamania Lodge and Resort in Skamania, Washington, overlooking the Columbia River. Kyla Sweet, the Education and Curriculum Specialist K–12 for the Pacific Northwest Canadian Studies Consortium, attended the conference as an exhibitor. She brought lots of resources, including information about the upcoming Study Canada 2018 institute, but one of her most popular offerings was her homemade maple-leaf shaped maple nutmeg cookies! Mary Cingcade, one of the National Resource Center’s Teacher Associates, gave a workshop called “A Sea of Change for the Inuit People in Canada and the Arctic.”
