Recorded Center events now online

Jodie Lane, director of education, Nunatsiavut Government, speaks during the 13th annual UW Fulbright Canada Chair in Arctic Studies lecture.

January 5, 2021

Like the rest of the world in 2020, the Canadian Studies Center transitioned to online teaching, learning, and engaging with our community. This new shift has created a wonderful space for us to increase accessibility to our programming and to invite the public, friends, and colleagues from around the world to take part in our events.

For example, in April of 2020, the annual lecture by our Fulbright Canada Visiting Scholar in Arctic Studies was co-hosted by a trio of Indigenous scholars and public officials based in Nunatsiavut, Canada — who would have otherwise been unable to participate. Their involvement enriched the event and following discussion immeasurably.

As we continue to offer online events, the Center will be sharing recordings with the public. We invite you to join us by viewing them at your leisure!
