In late July 2019, the Indigenous Transboundary Summit, Esqaplh, brought together stakeholders from Canada and the United States to discuss critical transboundary issues including mining impacts on the Skagit and Columbia Rivers, environmental impacts on salmon and orca populations, and sustainable Indigenous transboundary trade and commerce. Support for this summit will inform course content for the tribal international economy and business relations concentration being developed for the B.A. program in Tribal Governance and Business Management at Northwest Indian College.
