Corbett Scholar, Vincent (Vinnie) Glaser, Computer Science, UW to UVic

Vincent Glaser

June 19, 2018

My name is Vincent (Vinnie) Glaser and I am entering my sophomore year at the University of Washington as a computer science major this coming Fall 2018. Academically, I think my time abroad will be invaluable. While UW has an excellent Canadian Studies program, I believe that an intellectually diverse education is vitally important.

I am confident that the University of Victoria (UVic) will provide me with many new academic perspectives that I will take back to the UW and eagerly share with my fellow Huskies. I was born in Tucson, Arizona, and at the age of 10 moved to Vancouver, Canada, where I finished my secondary school education. I am participating in the University of Victoria exchange program for the entirety of my second year. I am both honored and enthused to be attending University of Victoria next year to enhance and diversify not only my academic knowledge but also my personal and cultural knowledge.

I am hoping to be able to compare the differences between the United States and our neighbors to the north. I cannot wait for the exchange to start, and I am excited to see what UVic has in store!

The Corbett British Columbia-Washington International Exchange Program Fund provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Washington to spend two semesters at the University of British Columbia or University of Victoria; and for students from the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria to spend three quarters at the University of Washington.
