Scholarship Opportunity to Study Mandarin in Taiwan

Scholarship amount and eligibility:

The UW Taiwan Studies Program invites all UW undergraduate and graduate students to submit applications for the Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, which offers stipends of 28,000 NTD per month for a duration of 2 (summer), 3, 6, 9, or 12 months to study Mandarin in Taiwan.  As part of an agreement between the Taiwan Studies Program and Ministry of Education (Taiwan), UW will be provided with two guaranteed scholarships, to be determined by internal competition.

How to apply:

To be considered for one of the two guaranteed scholarships allocated to UW, please first review your eligibility for the scholarship at the MOE Huayu scholarship website.  Then, submit an application form to UW Taiwan Studies (including a personal statement, unofficial transcript, and two letters of recommendation). Questions and letter of recommendation can be sent to taiwanst@uw.eduPlease also submit an application directly to Taiwan MOENote that even if you are not selected for one of the two guaranteed scholarships for UW students, you will still be considered for an at-large scholarship directly by MOE.
