The UW Taiwan Studies Program is proud to announce the launch of the University of Washington Press book series, Taiwan and the World, edited by TSP faculty Madeleine Dong, Bill Lavely, and James Lin. The first book published in the series is Niki Alsford’s Taiwan Lives, on which he will give a book talk on March 6. This will be followed shortly with the second book in the series, Fang Yu Hu’s Good Wife, Wise Mother.
UW Taiwan Studies Program faculty Madeleine Dong, Bill Lavely, and James Lin serve as editors for a University of Washington Press series, Taiwan and the World.
The Taiwan and the World series showcases the interdisciplinary field of Taiwan studies, foregrounding cutting-edge scholarship that embraces Taiwan as a fulcrum of global forces such as colonialism, capitalism, and migration.
The series seeks single-authored books offering new theoretical insights into Taiwan’s society and culture, contested international position in the shadow of a rising China, and other topics that reflect its relations with the wider world.
To submit a book proposal for the series, please refer to the UW Press series page.
