Global Innovation Exchanges Taipei: Semiconductor Industry Insights

June 17-28, 2024 (Summer A-term)

University of Washington’s Global Innovation Exchange and Taiwan’s prestigious National Taiwan University have curated an exclusive program that provides insights into the world’s most critical technology and industry. This program will focus on the fundamentals of semiconductor technology, its industry applications, and global business implications taught by leading academic and industry experts.

The program will also provide rare access to Taiwan’s leading semiconductor companies and research institutes.

Program Objectives

  • Acquire a high-level understanding of semiconductor design and its diverse applications.
  • Discover insights into the semiconductor manufacturing process and what differentiates Taiwan’s manufacturing ecosystem from the rest of the world.
  • Explore the intricacies of the semiconductor supply chain and its interdependencies.

Design in Taiwan: Sustainable Innovation through Craft and Technology

September 1 – September 21, 2024

  • Travel throughout Taipei and Tainan to understand Taiwan’s design culture
  • Study at Shih Chien University in Taipei and National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, both housing globally acclaimed design programs
  • Program Themes:
  1. Sustainable design practices
  2. Con­temporary craft designs
  3. Technological product innovations

Fulfills 5 credits of Arts and Humanities (A&H) and Diversity (DIV) general education requirements.
