[In the Media] James Lin on Speaker Pelosi’s Visit to Taiwan and Taiwan’s Representation in Western Media

UW Taiwan Studies Program Assistant Professor James Lin was featured by multiple sources on Speaker Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. He was quoted in the South China Morning Post on the risk Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan may pose. Professor Lin was also featured on Conversation Six discussing Speaker Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Professor Lin spoke to the symbolism the visit of such a senior ranking official means for U.S.-Taiwan relations. Finally, American Prestige welcomed Professor Lin to discuss Speaker Pelosi’s visit in a special edition podcast.

Regarding Taiwan’s heightened media presence in the West, Professor Lin joined Hyphen Magazine for a roundtable discussion of this recent media coverage. He addressed Taiwanese American identity, exploring the historical and generational complexities of being Taiwanese American within the greater social structures of immigrant identity making.
