The University of Washington Taiwan Studies Program will participate in an upcoming conference, Post Pandemic World and Global Education in Asia.
This virtual conference is an academic collaboration between Taiwanese universities, European universities, the University of Wyoming, and the University of Washington. The COVID-19 outbreak has raised many problems in the world and has impacted the trend of globalization. The conference will focus on how the pandemic affects global studies education, especially for the programs on Asian studies. The conference will start by exchanging experience on curriculum design and teaching philosophy. The second part will discuss the management and governance of the pandemic in Asia. Both days will conclude with a section on expectations and ideas for future collaborations.
The conference will run from 6am – 8am Pacific Time on January 14th and 15th.
Professor Jeff Hou, a faculty member of our Taiwan Studies Program, will be presenting during the event.
